Client Situation

  • Our client is a large Australian food manufacturer

  • The company was about to buy out the external minority interest in one of its Joint Ventures

  • In moving to full ownership, the company had an opportunity to identify and pursue opportunities for synergy and optimisation

  • Acutus was engaged as an independent advisor to explore potential opportunities with input from the leaders of the relevant business

Our Approach

  • To fully explore the potential synergy options, we commenced the review by engaging with senior business leaders to capture individual insights

  • We then synthesised insights into common themes and observations to articulate three broad opportunity areas

  • A workshop was then held to engage with our client’s senior leaders and generate ideas across each of the three opportunity areas, using an approach that involved:

    – Individual thinking / ideation

    – Team sharing and idea enrichment

    – Team synthesis and presentation to wider group

Outcome

  • By focussing the workshop on the three opportunity areas that came up during interviews, we were able to prepare targeted prompts for participants which generated high quality discussion and ideation

  • Following the workshop, our client received a synthesis of the key synergy opportunities that senior leaders had collectively developed
