Client Situation

  • Our client is an Australian food manufacturer who services both Retail and Food Service channels across multiple categories

  • The company had identified a range of growth options within one of its core categories, and was considering where to prioritise investment

  • Acutus was engaged to evaluate each of the options in more detail (including assessment of the potential value) and recommend which to pursue further

Our Approach

  • We developed an assessment framework to uniformly compare each of the opportunities

  • We then analysed each of the opportunity areas in detail across three dimensions: attractiveness, ability to win, and speed

  • We also considered M&A opportunities and provided indicative valuations and investment hypotheses

  • We then evaluated the opportunities as a portfolio and recommended a preferred investment runway that aligned with the overall Category Strategy

  • Our report also detailed the next steps for each of the prioritised opportunities

Outcome

  • Our analysis provided our client with a detailed assessment of each of the opportunities, and an overall evaluation that recommended which initiatives to pursue and in what order

  • The final report was presented to the Executive team and incorporated into the category’s strategic growth plan
