Client Situation
Our client is a manufacturer of nutraceutical ingredients, who undertakes activities including R&D, and the manufacturing and marketing of nutritional lipids
The client’s business has experienced healthy growth over the previous 5 years, and the client is considering the potential expansion of it’s current capacity and capability, as well as opportunities to move into adjacent products and technologies
The client wanted to undertake a structured and comprehensive search for potential M&A targets
Our Approach
We first developed workshop pre-read materials to frame key questions and prompt thinking
We facilitated an ideation workshop with cross-functional teams to identify potential areas for acquisitive growth
We then worked to understand available data sources with which we curated an exhaustive search
We developed assessment criteria to evaluate and shortlist candidates
We then appraised shortlisted candidates to identify most attractive options in each focus area to meet our client’s financial and strategic ambitions
Outcome
We developed a final report with recommendations on the most attractive candidates to be considered for future Due Diligence work
This body of work was presented to the Board for consideration of acquisition candidates
